The Nebraska Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and the Nebraska Association of Local Health Directors (NALHD) welcome you to the 2026 Nebraska Environmental Public Health Summit. This annual gathering brings together public health professionals, researchers, students, and community stakeholders to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and explore innovative solutions to environmental health challenges in Nebraska.
There will be a handful of pre-conference offerings on October 21st.
- Staying Calm and Communicating During Difficult Conversations event will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 110 Second Avenue, Kearney, NE 68847. Community Health Workers (CHWs) and environmental health professionals often work in situations where people are stressed, frustrated, or upset. This interactive session will provide practical tools to stay calm, respond effectively, and keep difficult situations from escalating. Cost is $60 and includes lunch. This event is a separately priced event and requires advanced registration. - NEHA will be offering a couple of hands-on trainings and tours the afternoon of the 21st for no additional cost. More information on the NEHA offerings to come.
- Finally, the NEHA business meeting will take place on the evening of the 21st, which is open to all NEHA members. A social hour will follow.
This year’s summit brings back three dynamic tracks: Food, Healthy Communities, and Water. With a stacked agenda of diverse presentations, this summit offers hands-on learning, cross-sector collaboration, networking with statewide peers, and real-world solutions.

Regular Membership is for any person who is employed in environmental health or related field in Nebraska.
Event Registration AND Student/Retiree Nebraska EHA Membership $35.00 (USD)
Student membership is eligible for any student pursuing a degree in related field. Retiree membership is for those no longer working in EH.
